My wife Kathy & I are currently residing in North Ogden, UT; wrkng for Hill AFB. In Feb 04, we covered 1500 miles in/around Tucson, looking for retiremt prop. As we headed East on I-10 and then south on 90, we were thinking we wouldn’t find anything we could afford. When we turned west on Hwy 82 and reached the Rain Valley area, we couldn’t believe what we were seeing. After talking to a couple different realtors there, we purchased a lot in Sonoita Estates on Buffalo Ct in June, 04. Kathy retires Jan 08 and I’ll have 3 yrs left to go. We’ve drilled our well on our property and hit good water at 340′. Perc test was successful, so now we just ache to join everyone there. My hobbies are astronomy & photography; Kathy used to work for BLM and would like to do volunteer work at Empire Ranch (if possible). We would love to see photos of the area after last year’s rain or now (28 Jul 07). I monitor the weather channel site for Sonoita weather constantly and see that the area is an inch above normal for July. We may just hop a flight down for a long weekend. I’m not sure how often this site gets used (I just discovered it) and I see only guestbook entries from Suzanne & Mr. Papa. If you read this - Hello! jeff & Kathy

Thank you for the reply Mr. Papa. No worries on us spreading the word. We kinda like it as it is too……….besides, when we tell friends/family about where we’re retiring, they all say “why would you want to live way down there? It’s so hot” (after they watch the Weather Channel and see what Phoenix is doing). Is it greening up after this recent rain?
